Eddy and City of Guelph Sub-metering Rebate: $225 for Eddy’s Solution!

The City of Guelph’s New Rebate Program – $225 Rebate for Installation of Eddy
Guelph residents can add another environmentally friendly as well as protective tool to their homes courtesy of a big boost from their city with the introduction of their “Residential Sub-Water Meter Program.” The program, announced last week by the City will go a long way in the adoption of technology that will protect homeowners against their biggest risk: water damage.
The City of Guelph’s initiative “will rebate $125 for each permanently installed sub-meter and $100 for each add-on sub-meter (e.g. strap-on meter) with smart technology.” The initiative helps residents control and conserve through the identification of high water usage that indicates leaks, inefficient plumbing products, and wasteful water consumption habits. Eddy’s IQ solution qualifies for both – a total of $225!
The great news is that Eddy is a part of this program. In fact, our IQ sub-meter is exactly the kind of technology that the City is encouraging residents to install.
The rebate drives awareness to both wasteful habits on the part of consumers (Canadians are among the world’s largest water wasters), as well as wastage from inefficiencies and leaks. Indeed, the Ontario’s Environmental Commissioner’s 2017 “Every Drop Counts” report detailed that 13% of a home’s water usage is due to leaks.
“The City of Guelph continues to be a leader in developing environmental programs that drive the adoption of sustainable consumption practices,” commented Venky Weylagro, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Eddy. “We are very pleased to be a part of this program, as our technology offers Guelph citizens not only the opportunity to track and conserve their water usage, but also protect their home from water damage.”
Eddy’s suite of products is a comprehensive smart water and home environment monitoring solution that tracks water usage and ambient conditions in a home. The Eddy IQ tracks water usage, immediately alerting homeowners when abnormalities are detected, and offers remote and automatic shutoff capabilities. The Eddy Link acts as a complement to existing metering infrastructure (acting as a ‘strap-on’), offering similar advantages to the IQ. Both communicate via the My Eddy Home App, an Android and iOS application that displays alerts in real time.
For a limited time, Eddy is offering 25% off our regular price to City of Guelph residents, in addition to the rebate they’ll receive from the City. To learn more about the program, please contact us at 1 877 388 3339 or email
