Insurance Innovation Alive & Well at Insuretech Connect!

Eddy Solutions at Insuretech Connect 2019 - Intelligent Leak Detection & Water Monitoring

Eddy was a proud sponsor of Insuretech Connect in Las Vegas

Only a few short years ago, the Insuretech Connect Conference attracted several hundred visitors. This year, the conference hosted over 7,000 attendees, hundreds of exhibitors, and sponsorship from nearly every major organization in the industry – including IBM, EY, Marsh, Deloitte, Aon, and Allstate – to name a few. To say that ITC is huge is an understatement – it’s a conference where Billy Idol performed at the afterparty and top-notch speakers and presentations lined the program – all in the backdrop of the MGM Grand, one of the largest event venues on the strip.
The most apparent part of Insuretech Connect was the sheer appetite for technology. Innovators spanning all aspects of insurance, including new startups showing their Betas to technology giants like Salesforce, demonstrated significant strides in the insuretech industry overall. What’s most encouraging, though, is the interest in insurance carriers in insuretech, taking note of the gains in loss prevention, cost reduction, and customer experience improvements of insurance technology. In fact, most insurance companies are either already investing in insuretech projects or plan to in the immediate to near future.
Loss mitigation and prevention is a significant part of the advantages of Eddy’s system. Water damage in property coEddy Solutions - Intelligent Leak Detection at Insuretech Connectntinues to grow as the largest risk and most common claim, and carriers are looking for proactive solutions to protect their customers’ property and their bottom lines. Intelligent leak detection solutions that include both sensors and shutoffs equip insurers with real-time protection as well as data insights to mitigate acute water damage risks and prevent future events from occurring. Our IQ is an ultrasonic water meter with leading resolution and includes a built-in full port ball valve that provides automatic and remote shut off features. Our wireless H2O sensors track humidity, temperature, and the presence of water. Our Link interfaces with existing meters to track consumption and can be coupled with a shutoff valve for large pipe sizes.
Our team was on hand to meet with insurance companies/carriers as well as brokers and other insuretech leaders to discuss our system and the many advantages of water monitoring systems. As the water bottle sponsor, Eddy received an extra boost of branding that reminded attendees of our connection to water.
Thanks to all the organizers of ITC2019! We’ll see you next year!
