It’s Fix a Leak Week!
Municipalities across North America celebrate Fix A Leak Week during the third week of March to increase awareness of the billions of gallons of water leaked annually nationwide.
According to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), household leaks waste approximately 1 trillion gallons of water annually in the United States. On average, a household can waste around 180 gallons of water per week due to leaks. That’s equivalent to the water needed to wash 300 loads of laundry!
Fix a Leak Week encourages us to be mindful of water conservation and helps develop positive habits that reduce water wastage! With nearly 2.2 billion people living without access to safe water globally, we must do our part to conserve and protect one of Earth’s most precious resources.
We’ll be sharing tips on water conservation and spotting leaks all week, so follow us to learn more! And for more information about Fix a Leak Week, visit the link in the comments.
