• Can Eddy shut off the fire sprinkler line?

  No, and it should not. Fire lines are life safety. Eddy meters the sprinkler line in alert-only mode: a discharge or leak raises an alarm in seconds and fire protection is never isolated.

• Does Eddy connect to the facility network?

  No. Eddy runs on its own LoRaWAN network through cellular gateways, so nothing touches house IT or OT. LoRaWAN reaches through the concrete that defeats Wi-Fi, and monitored points can still surface in the BMS through relay outputs or the API.

• How does rope leak detection work in a data center?

  Eddy Rope is a continuous-line sensor that covers the full length of a drip tray, not a single point. It is custom-fit to each branch, expansion loop and header, and long runs are sectioned so the alert names the segment.

  It is verified for glycol loops and alarms on standing water, not the condensation, humidity or dust a running hall produces.

• Can coverage start during construction?

  That is the recommended path. Eddy IQ meters and controls the temporary supply, the domestic main gets a meter, valve and Eddy Link and wireless sensors cover mechanical and electrical rooms.

  At substantial completion the same system converts to the operating program, including phased turnovers, with the flow baseline already learned.

• What happens when a sensor alarms at 2 AM?

  Automatic responses fire first, like closing the domestic main. Alerts go out by SMS, email and app, and the 24/7 monitoring center escalates by phone within minutes, confirms the shutoff and stays on the event until it is resolved.

  Every confirmed event closes with a Leak Incident Report documenting detection, response and resolution.

• Does leak detection affect insurance for a data center?

  Documented mitigation supports the renewal conversation. Aon's 2023 whitepaper on the Eddy system found leak detection would positively affect 58% of water-loss claims, and monitored buildings have documented premium savings of up to 20%, with deductible reductions of up to 80% documented at individual properties.

• Can Eddy tell us where the leak is?

  Yes. Rope runs are custom-fit and sectioned, so the alert names the branch, loop or header segment, to 10 ft on long headers. The monitoring center works from the same system map, so the escalation call names the location too.

• Does Eddy integrate with our BMS or DCIM?

  Yes. Monitored points surface through relay outputs or the API, so alarms land in the console your team already watches. The difference is what happens next: Eddy's monitoring center is on the same alarm, so response never depends on who is at the console.

• What if a device fails or the network drops?

  Every device is health-monitored, so hardware that goes quiet raises its own alert instead of failing silently. The network is Eddy's own cellular LoRaWAN with no dependence on facility IT, and configured automatic responses fire without anyone watching. The monitoring center is the layer behind them, not the only layer.
