Smart valve and meter controller

Eddy Link

A valve and water meter controller that brings smart leak detection to existing plumbing systems of any size. Drives shutoff valves for any pipe size and reads the meters a building already has.

Eddy Link smart valve and meter controller

Eddy Link is the bridge between existing infrastructure and the Eddy monitoring center. It controls third-party shutoff valves up to 18 inches, reads compatible utility meters via the Sensus protocol and routes everything through 915 MHz LoRaWAN.

Every Eddy deployment includes a shutoff valve connected to Eddy Link. The Link does not replace the building's plumbing. It puts the existing infrastructure on the same program with detection and response.

Eddy Link · valve and meter controller

Read and drive the larger valves and meters.

Eddy Link reads the building's meters and drives motorized shutoff valves up to 18 inches, on Eddy's own valves or third-party valves already in place. It reads Sensus, Neptune, Badger and Mueller meters, in new construction or retrofit.

What it does

Drives third-party valves

5-wire control connects off-the-shelf valves up to DN50 via USB power and DN450 via 24V DC. Belimo valves use 4-wire control. Shutoff valves up to 10 inches are supported.

Reads existing meters

AWWA UI-1203 reader supports the Sensus protocol, so meters from Sensus, Neptune, Badger and Mueller stream odometer and volumetric flow data to Eddy.

LoRaWAN backbone

915 MHz long-range radio, fully compatible with other LoRaWAN smart-building devices on the same network.

Backup power

LiPo internal battery keeps the controller live during outages so a power loss does not become an alert gap.

Pressure-transmitter input

Optional 4–20 mA pressure transmitter input enables pressure monitoring through the same controller. Available on request.

Where it fits

Specify Eddy Link when the building already has the plumbing infrastructure but lacks a managed program for detection, valve control and metering. The hardware integrates without ripping out what works.

Retrofits with installed meters

Read existing Sensus, Neptune, Badger or Mueller meters without replacing them.

Buildings with existing valves

Control off-the-shelf shutoff valves up to 18 inches via 5-wire or Belimo 4-wire.

Mixed utility deployments

Meter-only, valve-only or combined configurations on the same controller.

Pressure monitoring (on request)

Add a 4–20 mA pressure transmitter for line-level pressure data.

Compatibility

Eddy Link is engineered to work with the equipment buildings already own. Eddy commissions and integrates third-party hardware as part of the deployment.

Compatible meters

  • Sensus
  • Neptune
  • Badger
  • Mueller

Compatibility runs through the AWWA UI-1203 reader and the Sensus protocol for odometer reads.

Compatible valves

  • Off-the-shelf valves up to DN50 via 5-wire USB power
  • Off-the-shelf valves up to DN450 via 5-wire 24V DC
  • Belimo valves via 4-wire control

Eddy commissions third-party valves as "Eddy Valve" within the system. Shutoff valves up to 10 inches are supported. NSF61-rated for potable and non-potable water.

Pressure transmitters

  • Any transmitter supporting a 4–20 mA output signal

Pressure monitoring is available on request. It is not a standard offering. Eddy hardware measures flow volume as the primary reading.
