Las Vegas built most of its residential skyline in a single sprint. A condo boom that started in 2003 put dozens of high-rise towers up on and around the Strip within a few years, and those buildings are now deep into their second decade. Original risers, valves and supply lines across that stock are aging together, and a concealed failure on an upper floor runs down through every floor below it.
